Jason graduated from Purdue University school of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. Upon graduation he did a surgical and medical internship with Veterinary Specialist of Connecticut. The next step for Dr. Haviar was opening the Animal Emergency Hospital of Central Connecticut. After several years working overnights and weekends and having a very young family he began practicing along side his father and sister of the Animal Hospital of Rocky Hill. Jason purchased Glastonbury Veterinary Hospital in 2023. He has lived in Glastonbury for 10 years with his wife (also a vet in town) and two children. Dr. Haviar has been active with youth sports and supporting his community through coaching GBA and Glastonbury Little League. Dr. Haviar enjoys surgery, dentistry and medicine cases. When Jason isn't working you can find him fishing, hiking with his two Rhodesian Ridgebacks or supporting his two children on the sidelines of their sporting events.
Dr. Griffin O'Connor grew up locally in Suffield, CT. She graduated from Ross University School Of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. She did a year of clinical training at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. She spent the first 10 years of her veterinary career practicing at Suffield Veterinary Hospital. When she realized it was time to move closer to her family, she moved to Glastonbury Animal Hospital. It has always been a dream of Dr. O'Connor to own a veterinary practice so when Dr. Laura Sprague invited Griffin and her husband Jason, they graciously accepted this offer. When she is not working Dr. O'Connor can be found cheering her children on from the sidelines of local sporting teams. She also shares her home with two Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Bodhi and Sparkle as well as her rescue cat Sushi. Dr. O'Connor is very happy to join the practice.
Dr. Sprague is a graduate of Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She joined the practice after graduation, joining her father, Dr. William Keish. Dr. Sprague took over the practice and became owner in 2006, then sold the practice to Dr. Haviar earlier this year.
Ashley received her Veterinary Assistant Certification from MCC. After two years at a 24 hour emergency clinic she joined the GVH team in 2019. Ashley does dog grooming for GVH on Friday's. As well as being passionate about grooming and working with animals; In her free time she enjoys hiking, traveling, anything car related, spending time with her animals and family, snowboarding and grooming.
Susan joined GVH in June of 2020. Never having worked in a veterinary setting, with the help of the other staff members, Susan quickly felt at home in her new position. She is the mom to three, and grandmother to 8, and has an adorable fur baby named Lulu. In what little free time she has, Susan enjoys reading and gardening.
Beth has been part of the GVH family since 2008. Beth lives with her husband Dan and daughter Mae. Besides being a veterinary technician, Beth enjoys her hobby farm of oberhasli goats, buff orpington and bantam modern game chickens and beveren rabbits. Beth also has a cairn terrier named Fudgie, a jack russell named Ellie and 3 cats, Walter, Zoey and Fork.
Michelle has been with GVH since June of 2017 as a Veterinary Assistant. Michelle is currently taking classes to become a Certified Veterinary Technician.
Kady joined GVH in 2021. She is studying Computer Science at the University of Hartford. Kady has two cats and a dog. In her spare time she volunteers at local animal shelters to work with feral cats.
Brian graduated from Northwestern Connecticut Community College in 2016 with a degree in Veterinary Technology and shortly after passed the Veterinary technician National Exam to become a Certified Veterinary technician. Brian has always had a passion for animals. Brian currently lives in Coventry, CT with his fiance Stephanie. They have three dogs, 5 cats and together they own and operate Red Door Alpaca Farm which hosts a herd of alpaca and a flock of chickens.
Stephanie began at GVH when she was in high school. In 2011 she graduated from Northwestern Connecticut Community College's Veterinary Technology Program with a degree in Animal Science.
Ellen began her career as a veterinary assistant in 1993 at GVH. After spending several years studying animal science at UCONN she became a full time veterinary technician. In 2018, Ellen returned to her GVH family, and brought her well rounded knowledge with her. After 25+ years in the field. she still loves her job as much as the first day and believes it a wonderful thing when career and passion come together. In her off hours Ellen enjoys hiking, mountain biking, arts and crafts, and spending time with her husband and fur family.
Currently in high school, Caitlin is hoping to follow in both her parents and grandfather's footsteps as a
veterinarian. Her goal is to specialize in surgery or a mixed animal practice with livestock and exotics.
She loves working with animals, is very active in the 4-H program and enjoys hiking in her free time.
Stephanie, our newest receptionist, joined us in June 2023 and has over 8 years of experience in the pet industry. Her vast background ranges from pet boarding, owning a combined pet store/bakery for dogs, and then settling in the vet field in 2019. Originally from Rocky Hill, she currently lives in Wethersfield with her husband, young son, and their dog Lacey. Stephanie has a soft spot for the Boxer breed and supports client education in pet health. When she’s not working you can find her spending time with her family, cooking, and playing video games.
